Celebrating Pride Festival
Every year, Pride month is celebrated in Brisbane, providing a great opportunity to march and celebrate pride across the city.
Brisbane Pride Festival was officially launched on September 7 this year. The festival is Queensland’s largest and Australia’s third largest LGBTIQA+ event.
Pride Rally & March+ Fair Day was held on the 22 September at New Farm Park and for the second year, Carers Queensland’s LGBTI Allies hosted a community engagement stall at the annual Fair Day.
More sequins, bigger feathers and some seriously amazing shoes adorned and entertained the Brisbane Pride Fair Day crowd.
Smaller than its Sydney cousin but just as good, the Brisbane Pride March and Fair Day provides LGBTI people with a safe place to celebrate their diversity with others.
We were delighted to have so many people (families and friends, other community organisations and businesses) stop at our stall to learn more about our organisation – our carer support and NDIS services, share
their experiences or share a smile and take a selfie in our photo frame.
Many stall visitors were also aware of our newly acquired Rainbow Tick status and expressed their appreciation at knowing that we are a LGBTI inclusive organisation.
