International Day of People with Disability
Celebrating Inclusion. Creating Opportunities.
Every year on 3 December, people around the world take part in International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD). It is a day to celebrate the contributions and achievements of people with disability and promote awareness, understanding and acceptance in our community.
IDPwD is an opportunity for us to make positive changes to the lives of the 4.4 million Australians with disability.
Every day, Carers Queensland creates opportunities for people with disability to achieve their goals and live fulfilling and connected lives.
Work with us, get involved, and take action in your community.
Read, watch and listen to the stories of people with disability and learn from their experiences to challenge your attitudes and assumptions.
Help us to drive inclusive change as we work alongside communities to build capacity and enable sustainable change.
This year our IDPwD campaign theme is ‘Celebrating Inclusion. Creating Opportunities.’ which highlights and celebrates the change already taking shape in our communities.
At the same time, it challenges misconceptions and explores opportunities to work with and learn from people with disability to understand what inclusion looks like to them.
Let’s all take action this December, and all year round, to help make Australia more inclusive for people with disability.
