Although it might feel like it right now, you aren’t alone
We understand that caring for someone can be challenging and that you might need support, someone to talk to, or even just a friendly face.
Our carer groups are a great opportunity to connect with others and also an effective way to find social support, share information and even get some time for yourself.
How to join our Support Groups
There are a couple of ways you can find your local group(s):
- Regional Offices and Support Groups – find your local office and see what events they are running.
- Events – check out our full list of events, where you can search for different types, dates, or locations.
We have Carer Support Groups across Queensland and you don’t need to be a member of Carers Queensland to be part of one.
Themed support groups include: mental health, dementia, autism & ASD, incontinence, spinal home help and aged care. Some of our regional offices also offer gardening, craft and specific groups for men.
Friends Care Online
Friends Care Online is a closed Facebook group moderated by Carers Queensland staff.
The group provides an invaluable space for carers to connect with others and share their thoughts in a safe environment.
To join, go directly to Friends Care Online, or search for ‘Friends Care Online’ on Facebook; you will need to request an invitation and complete a short questionnaire.
