Carers Queensland’s Carer Friendly Business Awards recognise and celebrate employers, employees, and businesses that go the extra mile to make life better for unpaid carers. Every year, in the lead-up to National Carers Week (11–17 October), carers are asked to nominate businesses or individuals who deserve recognition for exceptional service or carer friendly employment practices. Nominations are for Queensland only and made under three categories including Great Employee, Great Employer, and Great Business. Carers Queensland Chair, Jim Toohey said now more than ever, as the whole world faces the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s important to recognise the people who are making a difference in our communities. “It’s been a challenging year, but one that has made us think differently.
