Fritha Radyk

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Fritha is the CEO of Carers Queensland having joined the organisation in January 2024.

She is a successful executive with impeccable leadership credentials, and has led complex projects and operations for large management consulting, healthcare and community services organisations in Australia and overseas for more than 20 years. Her warm and engaging leadership style and lived experience coupled with her strong business acumen provides a firm foundation for Carers Queensland to deliver quality, values-aligned services to the diverse people that Carers Queensland support.

Fritha enjoys the strong personal alignment she has with the work Carers Queensland counting her role as a mother of two young children with disabilities as her greatest challenge and achievement.

Wayne Herrmann

General Manager – Corporate Services

Wayne joined Carers Queensland in 2014, working to create processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and safety of the people and assets at Carers Queensland. He focuses on providing solutions and results that are aligned with the goals of the organisation.

Wayne has over 15 years experience in similar roles in the not-for-profit sector, which enabled him to bring a unique blend of business acumen, financial management skills and insightful thinking.

In his role, Wayne provides leadership and oversees the organisation’s financial activities and operations, from a short-term approach to long-term forecasting.

Sarah Bone

General Manager – Carer Advocacy and Support

Sarah joined Carers Queensland as an Area Manager in August 2018, after relocating from Darwin.

She became the Manager for the Carer program in June 2020.

Graduated from Paisley University with a Bachelor of Arts Business in 2003, Sarah has worked in the community sector for over 15 years.

She has over 10 years’ experience managing teams across a number of community programs including: Homelessness, Domestic Violence, AOD, Mental Health & Disability in the United Kingdom and Australia.

Sarah is driven by her passion to make a difference, focusing on helping individuals to live better lives, whilst promoting inclusive communities and opportunities for all.

Rae Headey

General Manager – People and Development

As the General Manager for People and Development, Rae is responsible for overall leadership of the HR function including strategic planning execution, HR advisory services, labour law interpretation, human resource systems and training and development.

A skilled human resources professional bringing over 20 years of experience in commercial and not-for-profit industries, Rae has postgraduate qualifications in Professional Management and Human Resources.

Prior experience in various small to large Not for Profits such as Leukaemia Foundation and Uniting Care QLD, Retirement and Property, Health, WorkCover and private business assist her business acumen and understanding of how our people are one of the most important parts of our business.

Rae’s vision of success is understanding our business drivers, leaders and people. Living our values and working together to ensure we attract and develop the best people to achieve our vision.

Sarah Walbank

General Manager – Quality and Assurance

Sarah joined Carers Queensland in 2009.

She has enjoyed a long career in the social care sector and brings to the organisation a wealth of knowledge from her experiences and studies in both Australia and the United Kingdom.

Utilising the knowledge and skills garnered over the past four decades, Sarah’s passion is strengthening the organisation’s internal governance processes to ensure Carers Queensland’s remains dynamic and responsive to the changing sector landscape.

Sarah enjoys a strong relationship with the work of Carers Queensland, having been a primary and secondary carer for many years.
