Testimonials

I am very grateful for the vocational placement in a nearby aged care facility that Carers QLD was able to organise for me. I am now in the recruitment process for a Personal Carer position. Carer QLD has delivered on their professional training program in an enjoyable, friendly, and supportive manner. I would recommend Carer QLD to any individual who have a caring nature and are looking for a new career path.

I am really appreciative to Carers QLD. By enrolling into a Individual Support Disability I was able to secure a permanent position during my work placement. Carers QLD are really supportive and persistent in making sure I completed my course. At times, I was struggling but I managed to complete the course with their help. All the trainers and my work placement officer were very helpful. I recommend Carers QLD for anyone looking for a great RTO to do their course.

Many, many thanks for your help. It's taken 40 years to get a qualification, I can't thank you enough for putting up with me.

Meet Sue, a SQW graduate

The SQW course has been beneficial as I learned many new things, like advocating for myself and others. I discovered organisations doing good things, which is so encouraging when so much of the news is sad. I've learned about inclusion, acceptance, patience, and empowerment. Asking for help, making friends, and accepting others while striving for improvement are valuable lessons. I've found the people who supported me awesome.

I wanted to seek something else to do with a plan in the near future with a plan in my mind in the support care industry, especially in disability and aged care facility. Carers QLD gave me the opportunity to do their course, and I have to say that I have learnt a lot. Thank you for this opportunity, which will lead me to the plan I already considered.

Meet Rebecca, a smiling RTO participant
I have found this course to be very insightful and challenging. With the wonderful support from my teacher, I am achieving my goals and completing my assignments with very helpful feedback. Without their support and knowledge, I doubt I would have attempted this course, even though I've been a carer for 16 years. They are fantastic, and it's my pleasure to be learning from them. I hope others will have a chance to benefit from this program.
Meet Paul, the proud graduate of our SQW program, captured in a delightful backyard snapshot.

Certificate 3 in Disability is a great course and has helped me with employment and understanding my family member who has a disability. Annette is a wonderful lecturer and very supportive. Trudy and Hang are also very supportive in the administration area and understand the difficulties of studying/working and supporting a person with a disability. Highly recommend this course.

The staff at Carers Queensland are very knowledgeable and caring. It was a very easy process to enrol and navigate the student portal. My trainer Vanessa Hapi was the best, very easy to conversate with and build rapport with. She is very knowledgeable and always willing to help if I have difficulty with my studies. Overall, I would recommend Carers Queensland to anyone who wishes to further their studies.

As someone who has experienced mental illness and has not worked in over ten years, I was reticent about rejoining the workforce. Carers QLD is making the transition back into employment as smooth as possible by providing me with the necessary skills to fulfil my goals. The staff are friendly, supportive, and informative. If you've ever considered a career as a carer, I wholeheartedly recommend giving Carers QLD a go. I know I made the right choice.
Meet Colleen, a RTO graduate

There were challenges in completing this course, however, the Carers Queensland staff I dealt with have always been supportive and encouraging. Now I have a whole lot of new and interesting knowledge and experience to achieve some of my life goals going forward. Thank you all for giving me the opportunity I thought I would never have. I followed one of my passions in a new way, which is caring for those who are vulnerable, by being accepted not only by Carers Queensland but professional providers in the industry, especially related to the rights of persons with disability.

I am profoundly grateful to Carers Queensland, John Fu, Hang Le, and the team for their unwavering support, compassion, and dedication. Thanks to them, I have acquired new skills, knowledge and confidence to step back into the workforce while fulfilling my responsibilities as a carer. Carers Queensland is a shining example of what dedicated and caring individuals can achieve in making the lives of carers better. I wholeheartedly recommend their services to anyone in a similar situation – they are a beacon of hope, support, and success.

Frequently Asked Questions

Carers Queensland’s mode of delivery provides a range of flexible delivery methods, which can include:

  • Online Learning:
    • This method allows students to complete their course remotely, at their own pace, using digital materials. It is often the most flexible option and can be ideal for working people or having other commitments.
  • Face-to-Face & Workshops:
    • Carers Queensland offers some classroom-based/workshop delivery training for specialised units requiring demonstration and practical applications. This can also benefit students who prefer a more structured learning environment and face-to-face interaction.
  • Blended Learning:
    • This is a combination of online and in-person learning. For example, theory components of the course may be delivered online, while practical components may be conducted in person. This offers a balance of flexibility and hands-on experience.
  • Practical/Work-based Learning:
    • Some components of these courses, especially those requiring work-based practical skills, may be delivered in a vocational placement and/or workplace environment. These activities will be required to be undertaken throughout; however, Carers Queensland has a dedicated vocational placement officer who will support students in finding suitable work placements to complete the necessary activities of the practical elements of the program.

Remember, our qualifications require a practical work placement component, where you will gain hands-on experience in a real workplace setting.

At Carers Queensland RTO, we're committed to your success and well-being. We're here to make your educational journey as inclusive, empathetic, and welcoming as possible.

Carers Queensland’s RTO provides options to our students for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and credit transfer. This allows participants to potentially shorten the length of their study based on their previous qualifications or professional experience.

  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):
    • This process involves assessing the person’s relevant prior learning (including formal, informal, and non-formal learning) to determine the skills, knowledge and any experience that may directly relate to the qualification. This could be relevant experience from previous work, volunteering, or any other relevant activities.
  • Credit Transfer:
    • This process provides students with agreed and consistent credit outcomes for qualification components based on identified equivalence in content and learning outcomes between matched qualifications. For instance, if you've previously completed a relevant Certificate II or other units that are equivalent to units in the Certificates III or IV course, you might be eligible for a credit transfer, meaning that you will not need to undertake that learning again.

Whether you can get RPL or a credit transfer, and how much credit you can get, will depend on the specifics of your qualifications or the experience you already have and how they align with the learning outcomes of the units in Certificate III in Individual Support, Certificate IV in Community Services, or Diploma of Community Services.
