Love of movies is making Levi a star

Levi Paton is spreading his love of movies out into the world and achieving his goals using funding from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

The 24-year-old from Redland Bay has recently accessed the NDIS and joined Choice Passion Life (CPL), a NDIS provider, where Levi gives movie reviews on YouTube and on a weekly radio show.

Mum Lorraine said Levi, who has autism, has always been passionate about movies.

“Levi wanted to start a YouTube channel for reviewing movies as he already does this on his personal Facebook page but wanted to reach out to people a bit more. Levi is so positive and happy about his time there and is looking forward to more things starting to happen for him,” she said.

Levi says he is a movie buff who enjoys many different types of films, from ‘The Avengers’ to ‘The Lion King’, and said he loves to make his reviews a positive experience.

“I really enjoy doing these two new things, the YouTube and radio programs, because it allows me the chance to spread my movie-loving positivity to new places. With the internet in the middle of constant negativity, it doesn't seem like a bad thing to bring the positivity back to the internet, and I feel like I can do that by spreading my love for movies in several places,” he said.

Levi received assistance to apply for and implement his NDIS funding from Carers Queensland’s NDIS Local Area Coordination Partner in the Community Program for the Beenleigh region, at the Capalaba office.

Lorraine said while they are only just starting to explore his NDIS funding, she is full of praise for her Local Area Coordinator.

“Sharon, our LAC, has been extremely helpful; she has gone above and beyond to try and help our family understand what is going on.”
